By learning finance, you will possess specialized skills that puts you on track for a high visibility, successful career. If you are a serious student, possessing good analytical, quantitative and computer skills, this field offers an exciting opportunity to move to the top.

The field of finance focuses on the best use of resources such as capital, credit, loans and savings, with the relationship of risk and return as an important consideration. Financial managers are crucial in leading organizations to profitability and shareholder wealth.

Finance majors learn to analyze a variety of topics including financial decisions, value, debt, risk, market efficiency, mergers and acquisitions, investment management, portfolio planning and financial institutions.

With a finance degree, you might work with individuals (personal finance), governments (public finance), businesses (corporate finance) or non-profit organizations.

The field offers a broad range of jobs in investment banking, hedge funds, private equity, mortgage lending, inancial planning, risk management and information technology.

At CNU’s Luter School of Business, you will learn finance in a liberal arts environment, providing you a broad-base liberal learning core, then adding a finance specialty to narrow your education, making you extremely marketable.

With a liberal arts background, you will become a lifelong learner, which is important in this dynamic field. You will also polish your ability to communicate both orally and in writing so that you are prepared to convey financial concepts to others and learn to interact with people of all kinds.

Finance majors at The Luter School of Business may choose to join the Economics and Finance Club or participate in a variety of other business organizations.

Whether you aspire to be the CFO of a corporation or to change the world through working with a non-profit, finance makes both dollars and sense!
